In partnership with the Susan Howarth Memorial Fund - WEDU PBS
During her career, Susan Howarth championed educational efforts for both the WEDU PBS community as well as mentoring many aspiring leaders in public media. The Fund honors her in a way she would have appreciated most: supporting women in their careers within public media.
The Public Media Women in Leadership (PMWL) Speaker’s Bureau, in partnership with the Susan Howarth Memorial Fund, was created to support the educational component of PMWL’s mentoring and engagement initiative. The fund supports honorariums for speakers to train women in public media at regional meetings and conferences.
The PMWL Mentorship and
Engagement Initiative
1. Mentoring for women within five years of attaining a C-level position
2. Mentoring for women early (first five years generally) in their public media career
3. Peer group facilitation on leadership and industry topics and trainings via webinars and regional meetings
4. Leadership and Mentoring Sessions at national conferences
